Privacy Policy

How we collect, use and protect your personal information.

Last updated: March 2025

Darul Uloom Zakariyya ("we", "our", "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect through our website and how we use it.

1. Information We Collect

We collect personal information only when you voluntarily submit it through our website forms, including:

  • Admission applications — student name, date of birth, parent/guardian details, contact information, and academic background.
  • Re-enrollment requests — student name, year of study, programme, and contact details.
  • Contact messages — your name, email address, phone number, and message content.
  • Donation enquiries — your name, contact details, donation type and amount.

We do not automatically collect cookies, analytics data, or tracking information beyond what is required for the website to function.

2. How We Use Your Information

The information you submit is used solely to:

  • Process and respond to your specific request (admission, enquiry, donation).
  • Contact you about the status of your application or enquiry.
  • Maintain records for administrative purposes related to your enrolment or enquiry.

We will never sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

3. Data Storage and Security

All form submissions are stored securely in our administration database (Supabase, hosted on AWS infrastructure in Europe). Access is restricted to authorised staff members only.

We implement appropriate technical measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls, and secure authentication for our administrative systems.

4. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as necessary to fulfil the purpose it was collected for, or as required by applicable law. Admission and enrolment records are retained for the duration of a student's association with the institution and for a reasonable period thereafter.

5. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Request access to the personal information we hold about you.
  • Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information.
  • Request deletion of your personal information where it is no longer needed.
  • Withdraw consent at any time for processing based on consent.

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at the details below.

6. Third-Party Services

Our website uses the following third-party services:

  • Google Fonts — for typography. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
  • WhatsApp — the WhatsApp button links to our institution's WhatsApp contact. Any conversation is subject to WhatsApp's Privacy Policy.

7. Children's Privacy

Our website processes information about minors only in the context of admissions, where a parent or legal guardian is required to submit the form on behalf of the student. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 18 without parental consent.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by an updated "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
